The BankUnited Celebrity Golf Classic presented by Sharp Business Systems and driven by Champion Audi took place on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Bonaventure Country Club in Weston, FL. The event was a huge success and Marlins players, coaches, broadcasters and other local celebrities spent a beautiful day on the links and participating in the silent and live auctions.
Red Fish Media sponsored the “Text2Win” campaign to promote “Give on the Go”, a new service that’s dedicated to helping charities receive donations through the power of mobile. Users who texted the keyword “Marlins” to 23000 had a chance to win 1 of 2 iPhones.

Info about the Marlins Community Foundation:
The Florida Marlins Community Foundation (FMCF) was established in January 1999.
A community foundation represents the resources of a large number of donors rather than one individual or family. Revenue comes from five sources: player contributions, corporate sponsorships, grants, events and ongoing programs.
The money raised is used to support "Cornerstones for Kids" - building a brighter future through education, the arts and baseball. Since its inception, the FMCF has given back over $6 million dollars to the community!
The purpose of this not-for-profit charitable organization is to promote educational, athletic, health, social and community service programs with a particular focus on South Florida's youth.
